Having a strong desire to tell stories, with and without words, Emma Leafe's photography is often layered with narrative and historical content. Traveling throughout Central & South America, Asia, Africa and Europe, has allowed a large body of investigative photography to yield,
which relates to anthropology and explores folklore.
Using this and drawing from her arts & design background, she produces editorial and personal projects. To further explore possibilities, she often collaborates with arts organisations by way of: curatorship, design and image-making and frequently ties the music, fashion and arts worlds together.
She graduated from Central St Martins in Criticism, Communication & Curation BA (Hons) in 2007 and in Fashion Design at London College of Fashion in 2001 where she was asked to design a womenswear collection for the Pitti Immagine Filati catwalk in Florence, sponsored by Merrell.
